Client background
When you’re a global organisation with 17,000 employees spread across 37 countries, you have no shortage of ideas and opinions on how best to keep pace with an ever-changing data analytics and financial environment. Unfortunately, business innovation can be stilted when a company has such a large volume of potential opportunities to pursue.
Experian’s challenge
Experian’s Global Innovation Strategy Team was being spread thin across countless projects and teams, with no defined system of managing new initiatives. Amongst other challenges, Experian didn’t have the bandwidth or processes to effectively manage their ideas, ascertain which initiatives to kill off, or understand which projects to take forward for further iteration.
Experian needed a fresh perspective at the table. They sought an agitator voice to disrupt the status quo and provide well-established teams with new methodologies, toolsets and ways of thinking to accelerate the dial on pace, rigour and output.
Velocity™ Innovation Operating System
By augmenting its innovation function with Future Foundry’s support, Experian introduced new skills to the Global Innovation Team and instilled knowledge on proven processes. This helped expedite problem identification, consumer testing and venture development; without compromising efficiency or quality assurance.
For over a year, Future Foundry and Experian have been working together to create a disruptive innovation programme that delivers outputs faster and at a higher quality than ever. This has provided Experian’s team with a clear direction and understanding of how to take their initial ideas and turn them into validated cases. Now, they can focus on effectively identifying and vetting the most promising solutions and most valuable areas for investment.
Using our proprietary Velocity™ Innovation Operating System, Experian has undergone a complete culture shift. A year ago, they were experiencing idea suffocation. Today, their innovation team has a clear, repeatable, scalable and measurable process that allows them to support their global teams with big initiative prioritisation.
“The benefit of our teams working with the Future Foundry teams is having exposure to a culture of speed and output, and really getting things done. Seeing that level of focus in play showed us "hey, if they're doing it, why can't we do it"? - Mike Charyk, VP of Global Innovation
